Squaw Valley Cable Car
There is a giant tram at Squaw Valley. The tram starts from The Village at Squaw and goes midway mountain to the "High Camp Bath and Tennis Club. There is also an ice rink at the top for skating fun. The scenic panorama views go on forever so this is definitely a "Kodak" moment. The cable car building is a landmark and was erected in 1968. The tram operates winter and summer as does the Bath and Tennis Club. Squaw also has a very funky Funitel, which is like a gondola but goes on a double cable. This is an all weather transportation vehicle, which you have to see to understand how it works.
Heavenly Valley Gondola
At Heavenly Valley the gondola starts right in town at the Nevada border and rides up to an observation deck where all of Lake Tahoe can be seen. Teh eight passenger gondoal goes up to 9123 feet about 2.4 miles from the Tahoe shore. At the top there is a restaurant and bar called Adventure Peak, but the views are what everyone wants to see. Don't forget your camera!
