23, 2007 - This morning at 9:30 a.m. Heavenly opened the new
Olympic Express high-speed quad to the public. A very exciting
moment for Heavenly and our guests, Olympic’s debut was
just in time for the holidays. With a ride time of only three-and-a-half
minutes people were all smiles as they came down Olympic Downhill
run after the first rides on the new chairlift. Olympic Express
is 3,533 feet long with 866 feet of vertical rise and travels
at 1,000 feet per minute. My first ride was so fast I didn’t
even have enough time to ask the other riders where they were
from; on the old lift I would’ve been able to hear
their entire life story! J Heavenly
now has 20 lifts open with skiing and riding on 42 trails, by far
the most open terrain in Tahoe. I hope everyone plans trips to Heavenly
this season to experience our new Olympic Express lift, as well as
the three new trails is accesses
