Lake Tahoe is accessible and open for business. All highways have been reopened; expect Highway 89 (on the West Shore), which is closed to southbound traffic at Bliss State Park and northbound five miles north of the junction of Highway 50 due to the Angora Fire.

North Lake Tahoe offers four Farmer’s Markets each week, through September, that sell everything from farm-fresh peaches to nuts to breads and cheese. In Tahoe City, the market takes place at Commons Beach every Thursday. On Tuesdays, visitors can head to the Coon Street Boat Ramp in Kings Beach or the Truckee Regional Park in Truckee. Homewood Mountain Resort (on the West Shore) is the place to be on Saturdays.

The free shuttle to Emerald Bay runs through October 7. The shuttle starts at 10 a.m. in Tahoe City at the Bank of America building and travels to Emerald Bay’s Eagle Falls. The last bus from Emerald Bay leaves at 7 p.m. For complete details, click to www.laketahoetransit.com.
The North Lake Tahoe Express daily airport shuttle service is available
to and from North Lake Tahoe and the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
The shuttle runs from 3:30 a.m. until 12 midnight. Fees are $35 per
person, one-way, and $60 round trip.
