Like most ski resort areas, holidays in Lake Tahoe are a winter wonderland and a perfect way to spend the December Holidays. It is essential to book your condo, or private home early as this is a sold out time period of you would like to stay near the slopes. Northstar offers condo rentals in the Northstar area, or just outside the resort area in nearby Truckee, or Tahoe City, or Kings Beach. On the South Lake Tahoe shore is Heavenly Valley with all grades of hotels, condos and private home rentals. You can stay in the city of South Lake Tahoe at one of the many condos available online, or get a hotel either on the California side, or one of the Casino hotels in Stateline, Nevada which is also right at the base of Heavenly Valley.

Squaw Valley, in the historic Olympic Village town, is closest to Tahoe City or Truckee and there are Free Shuttles to tote you around from resort to resort.
