6 Feet of Powder Falls On Tahoe

A series of three strong, cold storms that started pounding North Lake Tahoe last Thursday resulting in six feet of new snow at upper elevations, making for great ski conditions. According to the National Weather Service, Lake Tahoe is in for even more snow. Scattered snow showers are predicted for the region through Friday, when it will clear giving way to partly sunny skies through Sunday. All North Lake Tahoe ski resorts are open, including Northstar-at- Tahoe, Boreal Mountain Resort, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe, Squaw Valley USA, Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl, Diamond Peak and Homewood Mountain Resort. Lake Tahoe has the largest concentration of ski resorts in the country and traditionally receives 400 inches of snowfall each year, but it’s not uncommon for the region to receive up to 19 feet in just one month
