Tahoe Ski Resorts Opening Days

North Lake Tahoe ski resorts are gearing up. The projected opening date for Boreal is November 7, with Squaw Valley USA and Northstar-at- Tahoe scheduled for November 22. Alpine Meadows plans to open November 26, Sugar Bowl is November 27, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe is the week of December 8 and Diamond Peak is scheduled for December 11. All openings are weather permitting. Other ski resorts throughout the region plan to open later this year.

Heavenly Mountain Resort began making snow last night – signaling that the Lake Tahoe snowsports season is just days away if temperatures continue to cooperate. The West Coast’s largest snowmaking system, combined with recent storms that have dropped another five inches of new snow on Heavenly’s slopes, gives the resort’s guests confidence that they will be skiing and riding on the best snow surfaces in Tahoe on Heavenly’s opening day, scheduled for Friday, November 21.
