Tahoe Vacation Rental Reservations Ideas

Spring is a great time to plan a
Tahoe Vacation. Generally the weather is still chilly at night but the days are warm enough for a sun tan when you're on the slopes. While everyone still thinks you can only ski, there are so many activities to do on your vacation, you will want to save a day to try something new.
Lodging in Tahoe offers so many choices, that you may want to choose your lodging around your activities, not necessary where you are going to ski. There are
vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe everywhere, on both shores, and slopeside. But the activities are more centralized. In Squaw Valley, you can find the famous Tram and an ice rink mid mountain. Northstar also has an ice rink but there isn't one in the south.
During warmer days, the bike bath on the north and south shore are open, and if you make your
Lake Tahoe reservations in South Tahoe, you can ride some of the "river belle boats as the lake doesn't freeze. The majority of the casinos are down on south shore so if you like to gamble, or you like to see headline entertainment, you will want to be get a
South Lake Tahoe rental.
There isn't much mountain biking going on till the snow melts off the slopes, but golf is always popular and their are courses that stay open all year round, and at least driving ranges when there is snow on the ground. It may be bit early to talk about summer, but a lot of people plan their vacations around our famous Shakespeare Festival which takes place this year in Sand Harbor, over by Incline Village. You may want to get your
lodging in Lake Tahoe near the wonderful
Tahoe XC ski Area which is a fantastic place to go hang out whether there is snow on the trails or not. When there is no snow, you can hike the 65km of trails. They have so many trails you won't be able to do them all in a day, and many are dog friendly... go pooch! This is outdoors at its best (when you're not skiing of course!)
Back down on south shore, you can also ride the Heavenly Valley gondola to the viewing station to see the entire lake area. It is quite a spectacular view, definitely a photo opportunity, and one that should not be missed. If your
vacation rental in Lake Tahoe is down here, you would also have the opportunity to drive to Sierra At Tahoe which has a family friendly tubing park. Not just for kids but adults- especially the younger ones - just love it. Hey, we're all kids at heart! Kirkwood ski resort is also a great place to hang out for the day, and is about 14 miles from the south shore.
If you're interested in a culinary experience while on vacation, just check our our Lake Tahoe Dining Guides to find a list of all the great restaurants on both shores. I'd like to say I've eaten at them all, but haven't but can tell you the ones with lake views are my favorites!
So as you can see, Lake Tahoe lodging doesn't necessarily have to be centered around a ski resort, but can really be centered around the city hub where the activities are located. And all this great information changes, when the snow melts, the sun comes out and summer is upon us! Call us for help, we'll not only find you make the right
reservations in Lake Tahoe, we'll get you started on all the activity planning. We're here to help. Happy Trails.
