Beaches, The Sand, and the Water

There are no less than 30 beaches around the shores of Lake Tahoe. Swimming is everywhere and because some of the beaches are in Nevada as well, there are a few clothing optional beaches. Some of the beaches in Tahoe are managed by the Forest Service and may have picnic facilities, BBQ's, campground like settings.
The Parks and Recreation commission maintains many of the local parks including the North Tahoe Regional Park, along with Tahoe Vista Recreation area and the Coon Street Boat Launch facility. Many of the beaches have areas to mark off swimming from boats that wish to dock on the sand.

Here is a great map that shows where all the beaches are located with a little bit more information about each. Also the public utilities lists several facts and photos about the public beaches.
