Sledding and Inner Tubing in Lake Tahoe
There are few things as fun to do with your friends and your children as
sledding. Running to the top of a hill, and holding on for dear life
as you plummet back to the base is a thrill for children of all ages. Lake
Tahoe is easily one of the best places to do it.
Sledding in Tahoe can be done in any number of different places. Backcountry
sledding is always a sure thing as there are dozens of slopes and hillsides
that aren’t used for regular skiing. Multiple mountains have slopes
set aside for sledding, too.
There are also dedicated sledding and snow tubing parks as well. Kingvale,
Soda Springs, and the Boreal Mountain Playground are all very popular destinations,
and are open throughout the winter season.
Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe,
and several places in Squaw Valley also feature specially designed sledding
and snow tubing parks. Ropes tow you back to the top of the hill,
and you can release yourself as soon as you’re ready.
Don’t be fooled by the idea that it’s just up and straight
back down, though. Several places maintain specially designed sledding
and snow tubing tracks that are great for visitors of all ages.

| You can sled anywhere in the forest, or at a sled park at
a resort. |
Sharp
turns, quick drops, and lots of great straight-aways
make it more like a rollercoaster than a snowtube!
